Bear Island is a guard-gated community of 227 homes designed and built by Burg & DiVosta in West Palm Beach. Its only entrance is on Village Boulevard, between Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and 45th Street, and many homes look out on the Links Course, one of Bear Lakes Country Club's two Jack Nicklaus-designed courses.
The association maintains the streets, sidewalks, driveway aprons, common areas, entrance and gatehouse, plus front-yard mowing, fertilizing and pruning. The gatehouse is staffed 24/7. Owners pay a quarterly maintenance fee and also belong to the Villages of Palm Beach Lakes Property Association, which maintains parks, tennis courts and three swimming pools. Source.
